Arkadiusz Karapuda was born in 1981 in Żyrardów. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (2002-2007). In 2005 he received a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and Art. He completed his master degree with distinction at the Faculty of Painting under the supervision of Prof. Marek Sapetto, and the annex to diploma was made in the Laboratory of Techniques and Technologies of Wall Painting under the supervision of Adj. Prof Edward Tarkowski (2007). He received the Józef Szajny Award, the Ewa Tomaszewska Award for the best diploma work and the Bank BPH Award.
He became a scholar of the Entry Initiative (2008). He was a laureate of the VII ‘Pieńków’ International Painting Workshop (2008). He won the Marshal of Zachodniopomorskie Province Award at the XXIV Festival of Polish Contemporary Painting in Szczecin (2012). From 2007 to 2010 he served as an assistant at the workshop painting studio of Prof. Marek Sapetto (2007-2010). Currently, he is an assistant professor in painting studio led by Stanisław Baj at the home Academy. He defended his Ph.D. dissertation in the field of plastic arts, fine arts discipline (2011). Presently, he lives and works in Warsaw.
